TALLAHASSEE — McKenzie Milton returned to the football field for the first time since suffering a devastating knee injury in 2018 that nearly cost him his leg and he didn’t waste any time picking up right where he left off.
Milton came in midway through the fourth quarter and led Florida State on back-to-back scoring drives to rally the Seminoles and send the game into overtime.
However, FSU missed a 37-yard field goal on its first possession of the overtime and Jonathan Doerer connected from 41-yards out to give No. 9 Notre Dame a 41-38 win spoiling Milton’s return and sending 68,316 fans streaming out of Doak Campbell Stadium Sunday night.
