When New York City FC starting goalkeeper Sean Johnson was playing college soccer at UCF, Orlando was anything but a soccer town.
While he was in his final season with the Knights, Orlando City was still two years away from being founded and seven years away from playing in MLS.
But when Johnson returned to Orlando on Sunday as NYCFC took on Orlando City during the first match in the Lions’ new stadium, he saw a very different town than the one he left.
“It’s good to see,” he said.
