The NWSL Disciplinary Committee added an additional one-game suspension to former Orlando Pride forward Kristen Edmond’s red card suspension following an altercation in the final minutes of Friday night’s match between Kansas City and Portland.
Edmonds — who the Pride traded to Kansas City in January for Gunny Jónsdóttir and Erika Tymrak — attempted to body up to Portland forward Morgan Weaver, who was holding the ball up in the corner. The pair became physical and tangled up, eventually toppling to the ground after Edmonds cleared the ball.
When Edmonds returned to her feet, Weaver collided into her again.
