When UCF was recruiting R.J. Harvey in 2018, the Knights wanted Harvey, the sparkplug quarterback that led Edgewater to the Class 7A state finals that season, to play running back.
That recruiting relationship has paid off for UCF and running backs coach Anthony Tucker. Harvey, who signed with Virginia to play quarterback in the 2019 signing class, had a change of heart and now he’s back home after transferring to UCF.
According to his father, Robert Harvey Sr., R.J. arrived Monday and, after testing negative for COVID-19, will be required to quarantine. He should join the team later this week and dad is just glad to have his son back home.
