Calvin Ashley’s football career has been somewhat like that of a vagabond. He’s never really found his place to call home, making stops at seven different places since he stepped on the field as a freshman at Orlando Dr. Phillips in 2013.
The travels and tribulations, however, have prepared him for his next stage, said Ashley, who signed an undrafted free-agent contract with the Tampa Bay Bucs last weekend after going undrafted in the NFL Draft. Rookie camp next week will be stop No. 8 on Ashley Road, and he’s hoping to grow some roots.
“It was difficult, up and moving and leaving schools, but I do feel like it prepared me,” Ashley said.
