Former Dolphins defensive tackle Davon Godchaux agreed to terms on a two-year deal worth $16 million with the New England Patriots on Monday, according to ESPN. The deal also includes $9 million guaranteed.
“Happy but never Satisfied!! More work to do!!!” Godchaux posted on his Twitter account after the deal was reported.
Godchaux was a fifth-round pick out of LSU by the Dolphins in 2017 and played the last four seasons with the team.
A biceps tear ended Godchaux’s 2020 season prematurely after five games, while the Dolphins were able to play with a rotation of 2019 first-round pick Christian Wilkins, 2020 second-round pick Raekwon Davis, and backup Zach Sieler, who agreed to a contract extension last November.
