As Florida’s COVID-19 cases continue to rise, residents may be thinking twice about how they participate in the state’s reopening. Just two months ago, Gov. Ron DeSantis spoke about “light at the end of the tunnel” and modest case totals at an April 29 news conference. He may have spoken too soon.
In anticipation of a potential second wave of cases, we ran a public opinion poll to gauge Floridians’ COVID-19 expectations over the next month, and to see how soon people would be willing to participate in different types of social activities that they would normally do.
