Despite reluctance from his mother and the fact that he is only four games into his junior season, Darren “Goldie” Lawrence was determined to commit to Florida Gators football.
After numerous chats with his mother, and with the help of persuasion from his older brother, Lawrence finally talked his mother into getting on board with the idea. So the 6-foot-2, 200-pound Sanford Seminole wide receiver committed to the Gators on Tuesday. He waited to publicly announce the news until production of a video was completed.
“I’ve always liked the Gators. I grew up watching them,” Lawrence said.
