Three Orlando area high school football coaches and two senior standout players earned top honors this week as part of 2020 Florida HS Football all-state selections.
Sanford Seminole’s Eric Lodge, Lake Minneola’s Walter Banks and Foundation Academy’s Brad Lord were named coaches of the year in their respective classifications.
Lodge led the Seminoles to the Class 8A state championship in December in his first season as head coach. Banks’ Lake Minneola squad finished state runners-up in 6A in its first championship game appearance. Lord guided Foundation to the 2A state semifinals.
Seminole quarterback Timmy McClain is the overall player of the year in 8A.
