Area teams have won nine straight Class 1A girls state championships and it looks likely that streak will continue. The First Academy, defending champ Lake Mary Prep and Circle Christian are ranked 1-2-3 for 1A in that order by the iWanamaker digital golf scoring app, which factors in scores along with course difficulty ratings.
The top three lowest scoring teams for each district tournament advance to a region tournament the following week.
Balance and depth is once again the forte for The First Academy, which completed a 15-0 regular season with a 145-162 win against Lake Highland Prep on Tuesday at Heathrow Country Club.
