The Florida High School Athletic Association unveiled its first set of weekly power rankings for the 2021 season on Tuesday and Lake Brantley (10-2) has the top rating among all Orlando teams. The Patriots are No. 5 in Class 7A behind two Tampa Bay teams, Plant and Steinbrenner, and Jupiter and Jacksonville Mandarin.
“We definitely have a lot of talent, a lot of height,” second-year Brantley coach Allan Knight said earlier this season. “We’re pretty well-rounded. We have great potential. We need to go out there and execute.”
Seven veterans returned, including 6-foot-2 FSU signee Laila N’Diaye, senior Mya Mendoza, junior prospect Sarah Gooch and sophomore Austin Knight (the coach’s daughter).
