The Florida High School Athletic Association, which has wrestled with its reclassification process for weeks due to COVID-19 complications, is set to finally make a formal vote on the issue during a board of directors meeting Monday morning.
The delay in the process this time around is due to inconsistent enrollment numbers provided by schools, some of which may not have accounted for students taking part in online virtual school instead of face-to-face learning because of the pandemic.
The uncertainty has caused scheduling issues for fall sports programs, primarily football, which typically operates off two-year contracts with opposing schools and has schedules largely completed by this time.
