In a community like Orlando that leans heavily on the tourism industry for its economic growth, Florida Citrus Sports CEO Steve Hogan knows how critical it can be to host a pair of college football bowl games at Camping World Stadium every year — let alone doing it during a pandemic.
“We’re trying to stay positive,” Hogan said. “There will be some financial hits for everybody in the sports world this year and we’re no different. You’ve got to deal with it and move on.”
In June, with much of the country shutdown and in quarantine due to the coronavirus, the thought of playing a college football season seemed impossible.
