CINCINNATI — The Ron Jans era in Cincinnati is over.
Following an investigation into his alleged use of a racial slur, Jans resigned from his post as the head coach of FC Cincinnati on Monday evening. Jans had been overseeing FCC’s preparations for the club’s second season in Major League Soccer through Feb. 13, but he stepped away when the club learned of the accusation from the MLS Players Association
“As Major League Soccer’s investigation unfolded and some themes emerged, Ron offered his resignation and we agreed that it was the best course of action for everyone involved with FC Cincinnati,” club president Jeff Berding said in team statement.
