Florida Atlantic jumped out to a hot start in 2020, winning five of its first six games under first-year coach Willie Taggart.
But after losing back-to-back games to COVID-19 safety protocols, the Owls were never able to fully recover, losing three straight games to finish the season with a 5-4 mark.
“The way I look at it, the way we went through the season last year was like spring ball for us,” Taggart said of the challenges of the pandemic year during Conference USA media days. “We had a chance to get to understand our players and things of that nature.
