Evans High School may not have a track to call its own, but it definitely has a track and field team.
The Trojans are eagerly awaiting the construction of their first rubberized track, which could arrive prior to the 2022 season, but they aren’t waiting to win. The team, which trains on grass and a bus loop at the school, ran away with the girls team title at last Saturday’s West Metro Conference championship meet at the Deputy Scott Pine Community Park in Windermere.
“This is a team that has really excelled through adversity,” third-year Evans girls head coach Patrecia Daniley-Porter said on Tuesday.
