The All England Club says British teenager Emma Raducanu retired from her fourth-round match against Ajla Tomljanovic because of difficulty breathing.
The 18-year-old Raducanu, ranked 338th in the world, was playing in her first Grand Slam tournament and second tour-level event. She received a wild-card invitation from the All England Club and won fans all over Britain during her run to the second week at Wimbledon.
Raducanu was visited by a trainer on court during a medical timeout in the second set, and then they left for the locker room. Shortly after, the chair umpire announced that Raducanu could not continue.
