The Eagles made a pit stop Thursday in Tallahassee to take part in a walk-through at Florida State University’s indoor practice facility. The next night, senior kicker Jack Howes bounced a 40-yard field goal off the crossbar and through the uprights with four seconds to go for a 30-28 win.
Edgewater (7-2) returns to Tallahassee on Saturday to face Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas (7-1) in the FHSAA Class 7A state championship game at Doak Campbell Stadium.
