With a open date due to a COVID-19 forfeiture by St. Cloud last week, it wouldn’t have been surprising to see Edgewater look a little rusty in Friday’s Class 7A, Region 2 semifinal game against visiting Viera.
After all, the Hawks had won their first two playoff games over Sunlake and Lyman by a combined score of 77-0.
Fifty-two points in the first half proved there was no rust at all for Edgewater as it rolled into the regional final with a 59-0 romp past the Viera.
“We had a great week of practice. A great two weeks of practice,” Eagles’ head coach Cameron Duke said.
