Clermont East Ridge (16-4) carries a 10-game win streak into its Class 7A Region 2 home match against Windermere High (7-4-2) at 7 p.m. after pulling out a thrilling quarterfinal win Wednesday night vs. Cypress Creek.
The Knights won 8-7 on penalty kicks after the teams finished regulation and two overtime periods in a scoreless draw. Nicholas Aquilino made the final save and Ethan Loden had the game-winning kick for East Ridge.
Cypress Creek (12-3-2), which lost its district championship game last week on penalty kicks at Davenport Ridge Community, ends its season having allowed just five goals.
