The forces of Mother Nature meant a weather delay of nearly two hours on Friday night, but that wasn’t going to stop Dr. Phillips from getting its first win of the 2021 high school football regular season.
The Panthers rallied behind a physical and relentless effort from its defense to beat Timber Creek 33-7.
DP didn’t have the results it hoped for after getting blown out by Lake Minneola in preseason play and Jones last week. Getting their first win of the season at home pleased head coach Rodney Wells.
“Oh, it feels good. It feels really good,” Wells said.
