It appears the Miami Dolphins may be willing to part with one of their 11 rookie draft picks during the first month of training camp.
The Dolphins waived defensive end Curtis Weaver, their fifth-round pick who was the career leader in sacks for the Mountain West Conference, with an injury designation on Monday.
This all depends on the severity of Weaver’s foot injury, which was sustained in practice last Saturday, according to a league source.
Typically, NFL teams do not want to claim players who are waived/injured because it requires paying an injured player who cannot play.
