MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is expected to start in Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to a league source.
Tagovailoa, the Dolphins’ No. 5 pick in April’s NFL draft, and his left thumb injury that had him listed as questionable to play will be evaluated during pregame warmups.
If it checks out, Tagovailoa will make his fifth career NFL start on Sunday against the Bengals (2-8-1) at Hard Rock Stadium.
Tagovailoa first injured his thumb on his left throwing hand in practice on Nov. 25. The injury caused him to be limited in each of the six Dolphins practices in the past two weeks.
