LAKE FOREST, ILL. — Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s connection with former Alabama teammate Jaylen Waddle was alive and well during the team’s Wednesday joint practice with the Chicago Bears in Illinois.
Whether Tagovailoa was finding the rookie wide receiver and this year’s No. 6 pick in the NFL draft on a downfield throw over the middle, a shallow out, in space where Waddle was able to run after the catch or in the back of the end zone in 7-on-7 work, the chemistry was evident on multiple occasions.
“I think [Wednesday] felt like a first day type of practice,” Tagovailoa said about getting to face another team in drills after spending two weeks in training camp in Miami going against fellow Dolphins.
