Miami Dolphins starting inside linebacker Elandon Roberts is in the second stage of the NFL’s three-stage concussion protocol, which allowed the team captain to return to practice on Friday.
But Roberts, who learned he suffered a concussion after last Sunday’s 21-11 loss to the New England Patriots, has not been cleared to play in Sunday’s home opener against the Buffalo Bills (1-0) yet.
He must undergo a neurological examination on Saturday, and if his concussion symptoms subside the fifth-year veteran Miami added as a free agent this offseason could be cleared to play during Sunday’s 1 p.
