The Miami Dolphins are bringing back a veteran defender who played for the team during the first season of the Brian Flores era.
The Dolphins and defensive tackle John Jenkins agreed to a one-year deal, a league source confirmed to the Sun Sentinel on Thursday.
Jenkins was a rotational defender, playing all 16 games of the 2019 season for the Dolphins, producing 34 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack with five starts. He played in 11 games for the Chicago Bears last season.
Jenkins returns to play a similar role he had in 2019, bolstering a defensive tackle rotation which includes first-round pick Christian Wilkins, second-round pick Raekwon Davis and veteran Zach Sieler from a season ago.
