Dolphins' Shaq Lawson will return to practice, while other players are getting ready in case rookie Austin Jackson can’t play vs. 49ers.

The Miami Dolphins will have at least one sidelined starter return to practice as the team prepares for its Week 5 matchup on the road against the San Francisco 49ers.

Defensive end Shaq Lawson, who signed a three-year, $30 million deal with the Dolphins in the offseason, is expected to return to practice on Thursday after recovering from an illness that was not related to COVID-19.

“Shaq, so everyone is clear on this, it wasn’t covid-19 related. Just a bug,” Dolphins coach Brian Flores said of Lawson. “He’s feeling a lot better. He should be out there today.
