Here’s the latest installment of our Miami Dolphins Q&A, where South Florida Sun Sentinel writers Safid Deen and Omar Kelly answer questions from readers.
General Manager Chris Grier said it himself: the Dolphins’ top need is to add “playmakers.” But people often make the mistake of thinking playmakers are just offensive skill players, like receivers, tight ends and tailbacks.
A playmaker could be a inside linebacker who sniffs out a run on third-and-3 and stops the ball carrier in the backfield, forcing a punt.
Or a center who gets to the second level and gobbles up a linebacker, creating an alley for a tailback to break a big run.
