Davis, the 6-foot-7, 330-pound second-year player out of Alabama, will miss at least three weeks while on IR after suffering a knee injury in the first quarter of the Dolphins’ 17-16 win against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.
The Dolphins will be without one of their top run stuffers for this upcoming Sunday’s home opener against the Buffalo Bills, a Week 3 trip to Las Vegas to face the Raiders and the Oct. 3 home game against the Indianapolis Colts.
John Jenkins, the ninth-year player out of Georgia, will be counted on in the middle of Miami’s defensive line after he played 60 percent of the Dolphins’ defensive snaps at New England in Davis’ place.
