Bill Arnsparger, the defensive whiz who helped three teams to six Super Bowls, was selected as a Paul “Dr. Z” Zimmer Award winner for career achievement as an assistant by the Professional Football Writers of America.
He was the mind behind the Dolphins’ No-Name Defense in the early 1970s, the Killer B’s Defense in the 1980s and is considered the godfather of the zone blitz that became such a defensive force in football.
