If the Miami Dolphins hope to slow the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday night, they must do so without a valuable starting defender.
Dolphins defensive end Shaq Lawson, who is nursing a shoulder injury, did not travel with the team on Friday when it left South Florida for Las Vegas, the team announced.
Lawson, who was limited in practice this week, has become a key contributor to the Dolphins’ No. 1 ranked scoring defense since joining the team as an free agent acquisition earlier this year.
Lawson is second on the team with 18 quarterback hits, while playing in 13 games with seven starts.
