One of the Miami Dolphins’ top defenders has been cleared to practice with the team, giving him a chance to play in the Sept. 13 season-opener against the New England Patriots.
Xavien Howard, who was spent all of training camp on the NFL’s Physically Unable to Perform list while he rehabs a knee injury that forced him to miss most of last season, has been taken off the PUP, and the COVID-19 reserve list.
Howard was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list on August 11, and even though he’s been working inside the team’s Davie facility for the past week, and sporadically doing sessions on field with Miami’s trainers, he didn’t get taken off the list until Thursday.
