WASHINGTON– D.C. United tied up an important loose end Monday by acquiring homegrown goalkeeper Bill Hamid on permanent transfer from Danish top-division side FC Midtjylland. United signed its starting goalkeeper to a three-year deal using targeted allocation money, the team announced.
“Bringing Bill back to the club in 2020 and beyond was a top priority for us this offseason,” United general manager Dave Kasper said in a team release. “Bill is a leader on and off the field and we’re excited to bring him back to the club that he has worked tirelessly for over the last 10 seasons.
