Danny Stutsman ran for 144 yards, including a 74-yard touchdown for the only score of the night, to lead Foundation Academy to a 7-0 home win against Lakeland Victory Christian in the Class 2A, Region 2 final.
The Lions (8-1) beat the Storm for the first time in the playoffs after four previous postseason defeats and secured another home game for next week’s state semifinal. That game will be against Jacksonville University Christian (7-4), a team that thumped Foundation 35-0 in an Oct. 16 regular season game.
Foundation won Friday because of Stutsman and a defense that held Victory (7-5) to 183 offensive yards.
