Lubin’s potential college options looked bright after the 2019 season. Then COVID-19 hit. Lubin lost out on several offers. He eventually committed to play for Western Kentucky, but he was informed late last year he would have to look elsewhere. The Hilltoppers decided not to sign any high school seniors. WKU, like most schools, normally would sign close to the 25 scholarship limit per year.
“This thing is bad for the high school seniors this year. It’s the worst thing that could have happened to them,” Lewis said. “At least Western Kentucky coaches called to let him know, instead of letting him hang like a lot of other schools.
