COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus Crew SC captain and homegrown player Wil Trapp has been traded to Inter Miami FC, Sources have confirmed to Pro Soccer USA.
Trapp was a mainstay in the Columbus midfield following his debut in 2013. He leaves the Crew, as first reported by the Athletic, seventh in games played for the club and first in games played by a homegrown product. Trapp is also among the top three homegrown players for most minutes played in Major League Soccer.
Trapp has received multiple call-ups to the United States men’s national team under manager Gregg Berhalter, the former Crew boss.
