COLUMBUS, Ohio — After a tumultuous 2019 season that nearly didn’t happen at all, the Columbus Crew are looking to make strides and return to the postseason in 2020.
Now that head coach Caleb Porter and team president and GM Tim Bezbatchenko have had a full offseason to make moves, Columbus has a new look. Team icons Wil Trapp and Federico Higuain are gone and have been replaced by Darlington Nagbe and Lucas Zelarayan. The latter commanded the largest transfer fee ever paid by the Crew.
Expectations are high for the team, and anything other than a playoff run would be a disappointment.
