The Colorado Rapids have signed French winger Nicolas Benezet from Toronto FC, pending the receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and P-1 Visa, the club announced on Tuesday.
The Rapids acquired his rights from in exchange for $50,000 in General Allocation Money. Toronto will receive an additional $50,000 in GAM should Benezet starts 75 percent of all games this season.
“We’re delighted to add to our attack someone of Nicolas’ quality,” Rapids Executive Vice President and General Manager Pádraig Smith said in a release. “He’s a goal-dangerous, dynamic player who excels out wide, while also offering us positional depth with his ability to play multiple positions in attack.
