Javian Hawkins had a pre-NFL Draft grade of 5.9, which usually would mean he’d land somewhere in the mid-to-late rounds of the annual college smorgasbord.
As the names were sounded out during Day 3 of the annual pro football entry draft, the Louisville running back never heard his. Twenty running backs were drafted during the three-day event, but not Hawkins, who rushed for 2,355 yards and 16 touchdowns in three seasons with the Cardinals.
When asked during a phone interview Sunday if he was disappointed, Hawkins replied, “Not really ... not even a little bit. I didn’t rally care too much about it.
