Central Florida resident Noah Lyles, a professional track and field athlete specializing in sprints, is currently competing in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
Ahead of the Olympics, he spoke to Holt about competing in Japan and discussed his struggle with depression last year amid the coronavirus pandemic and racial unrest.
“Not as much,” Lyles responds, though he admits he used to have pre-race doubts. “I don’t get into a race anymore where I don’t think I can do something because I’ve trained that out of myself.”
