Christian Pulisic has suffered a setback in his return from an adductor injury that has kept him out of action for four weeks, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard said on Saturday.
The United States men’s national team and Chelsea midfielder has not played since New Years Day, but reportedly returned to training in the week leading up to Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Leicester City.
Pulisic was in contention to return to the lineup, but Lampard said the team might have rushed him back into the lineup, causing the setback.
“We tried to get him out there last week, step it up a little bit, but we had to pull out of that,” Lampard said following the match.
