The Chicago Blackhawks squandered a three-goal second-period lead with a dizzying array of penalties, turnovers and defensive lapses as the Tampa Bay Lightning stormed back to win 6-3 and close out a three-game stint at the United Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Hawks committed four penalties during the second period — including a match penalty major by defenseman Connor Murphy — and the Lightning cashed in with three power-play goals. Yanni Gourde scored one of them along with an even-strength goal to give the Bolts four goals in the period and a 4-3 lead.
“It’s a very disappointing loss,” said Mattias Janmark, who scored in the first period.
