The Chicago Blackhawks said before the season they would give a number of young players opportunities, and they didn’t wait long to shake up the lineup.
Collin Delia started in goal in Game 2, a 5-2 loss to the Lightning on Friday in Tampa, Fla., two nights after Malcolm Subban started and lost the opener 5-1. Like Subban, Delia gave up five goals and had a mix of self-inflicted gaffes and stellar stops.
Coach Jeremy Colliton mixed up the combinations, but the normal top line of Strome, Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat accounted for the Hawks’ two second-period goals.
