Practicing for a playoff game on Thanksgiving week is a strong indication of a successful high school football season.
In all, 13 teams from the Orlando area play in Florida High School Athletic Association region playoff games Friday. includes Foundation Academy at home against Lakeland Victory Christian (7-4) in a Class 2A region championship game.
The other 12 teams, all of which are slotted in the Sentinel Super 16 this week, take part in region semifinal matchups in their respective classifications. Six large-class games are scheduled to be played locally Friday in Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties.
