Brad Lord, who in 13 seasons built Winter Garden Foundation Academy into a perennial small school power in Florida’s Class 2A, said Thursday he is stepping down from his position. Lord, who cited being able to spend more time with his wife, Amy, and son, Brady, will be replaced by Foundation assistant coach Andre Walker.
Lord will not leave Foundation, taking over a new role as Football Operations and Athletic Collegiate Placement Director. He’ll assistant in finding scholarships for all Foundation athletes. As football coach, Lord has sent 23 players to the next level, including Danny Stutsman, who signed with Oklahoma on Wednesday to become Foundation’s first Power Five signee.
