It was a big play night for both Boone and East Ridge with the host Braves having more of them. Boone scored its first two touchdowns within 15 seconds of each other and ended up hanging on for a 48-37 high school football win on Friday night.
The Sentinel No. 16 Braves opened the scoring with a 43-yard TD run from Jackevis Lovett with 3:50 left in the first quarter. After Boone recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff, quarterback Casey St. John hooked up with Aiden Mizell on a 35-yard TD reception.
East Ridge answered Boone’s 15-second-apart scores less than a minute later with a 46-yard TD reception by David Ramos from Colton Murphy.
