Leyton Nelson was beyond elated when he was offered a scholarship Friday by the Florida Gators. He didn’t, however, want to act too excited.
“I felt, I guess you could say, accomplished because I had worked for that one,” said Nelson, a 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive tackle at Orlando Boone High. “I wanted to like, I don’t know, freak out, but I didn’t want to be weird, so I just kinda stood there and took it kind of cool. But overall, I was ecstatic.”
The offer came from UF coach Dan Mullen, who watched Nelson perform throughout his workout in Gainesville.
