Blake Snell could learn humility from NASCAR’s Ryan Newman | Commentary

Ryan is a professional athlete just like you; except he feels blessed to resume his sport at Darlington today when NASCAR re-starts its pandemic-delayed season.

Newman hasn’t raced since the horrific crash near the end of the Daytona 500 in February when his car got turned, crashed head-on into the wall, flipped onto its roof, got crushed on the driver’s side by another car and skidded across the finish line mangled and in flames.

Snell, the ace pitcher of the Tampa Bay Rays and the 2018 Cy Young Award winner, became the poster boy for the petulant, pampered, prima-donna professional athlete earlier this week when he vehemently and arrogantly objected to Major League Baseball’s reported proposal of a 50-50 revenue split with the players for a coronavirus-shortened season.
