Andrew Darling, a practicing attorney who made an unsuccessful run for the Orange County sheriff position in 2020, is ready to add to his busy agenda with a heavy dose of high school football coaching.
The former Oak Ridge quarterback was officially announced Thursday as the new coach for Cypress Creek, which suffered through an 0-9 season last fall and finished with less than 20 varsity players.
“I’m going to change the culture at Cypress Creek,” Darling said Thursday after a meeting with players on campus. “It’s not going to be easy, but I do think it’s going to happen, and maybe a lot sooner than some people might think.
