Atlanta United added another piece to their midfield Monday as their Concacaf Champions League preparations intensify.
The Five Stripes signed 23-year-old Brazilian midfielder Matheus Rossetto to a deal using targeted allocation money. Rosetto comes to Major League Soccer from Athletico Paranaense in Brazil.
“Matheus is a technically gifted midfielder who gets around the field well,” Atlanta United vice president and technical director Carlos Bocanegra said in a club statement. “He fits our club profile, having already played in 70-plus league matches at only 23-years-old, along with international experience in Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana.
